Wonder who is getting vaccinations in phase 1A? Here are a few examples of people I met today: mothers of children with terminal diseases, foster families with numerous kids with disabilities, elderly Parkinson’s patients and their spouses. Medically fragile people often living in socially challenging situations. Is there a lot that can be improved in the distribution? You bet. Ethical dilemmas abound when supply continues to be so limited, and often the best laid plans go awry with a massive public health endeavor. But I’m taking heart that more and more people who need this vaccine are getting it. It can be frustratingly slow going, but we are heading in the right direction.
